SHARP EDGE is a house-burnin' rock & roll/blues band, covering the gamut of all styles...50's & 60's soul, rock & roll, even some classic British rock, as well as original material...all without a loud assault on your ears!

SHARP EDGE has been working in the New Jersey/New York area for over 15 years and is comprised of veteran players:

Mike Brocato: Lead vocals, guitars, harmonica.
Mike Brocato is a veteran of the New York/New Jersey music scene, entertaining and fronting bands for
over 35 years, with a playing style influenced by the likes of Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, and the endless list of blues players from the 1950's.

Vocal style influenced by the Rascals, Wilson Pickett, Roy Orbison, Ray Charles, Little Richard, and pretty much anyone with soul.

Artists who have played with Mike include (Grammy winning B.B. King producer) Trade Martin,
(Blues Gold Award winner) Hubert Sumlin, (Mountain Bassist-Guitarist) Richie Scarlet, (Southside Johnny
Bassist) Muddy Schews, among others. He was the winner of New Jersey radio station 105.5 WDHA's only
Home Grown Songwriter Competition.

Mauro "Doc" Buonarota: Bass, Background vocals.
Playing for over 35 years and a veteran of the New Jersey music scene, he has shared the stage with the
Beach Boys, the E-Street Band anf worked in various NY theater productions. His playing style is influenced
by the likes of Jack Bruce, Tim Bogert, Felix Papilardi
.

Ken Serio: Drums.
Ken has studied with the great Joe Morello, Kenwood Dennard and Zak Danziger. His recording and touring list include Mark Egan, David Mann, Gil Goldstein, Danny Gottlieb, Pete McCann, Vic Juris, Ronnie Earl, Dem Brooklyn, Bums, Bill Turner (guitarist for Bill Haley and the Comets), Crosscurrents, Calvin Hill, Virginia Mayhew, Ken Wessell, Billy Eric, and rock groups Asylum and Bed of Nails. Ken's festival appearances throughout the globe include "Veneto Jazz" in Italy and The JVC Jazz Festival in NYC . Television appearances include NBC, BET, and CNBC. Studio work includes jingles for Kellogg's and Coca-Cola, has a forth coming instructional CD due out later this year and was featured in the June 2000 issue of Modern
Drummer Magazine.   

SHARP EDGE  has four CD's. The debut CD, "There's a Reason for Everything" has 13 original songs, almost one hour of music. The debut LIVE CD, "Sharp Edge Live" has 19 great cover tunes. The newest Studio CD,    "Let the Light In", has 12 original songs and just about an hour of music that covers lots of musical ground, and the newest live CD, "Sharp Edge Live Two", has 15 great cover tunes as well. All CD's can be ordered online through this web site at "the CD Shop" and are available at all SHARP EDGE appearances.
Sharp Edge T-Shirts are black, cool, and always available at gigs or through the "Merchandise" page on this website.

SHARP EDGE is also featured on two Silk City Records compilation releases, "Standing Room Only"; Songs from the Last Roadhouse, and "Santa Has Left the Building" Both CD"s feature some of the Northeast area's top Blues, R & B, and Blues Rock artists, and are sold internationally.
